My Football Hero: History of the Lionesses
My Football Hero: History of the Lionesses
|
Seeing the Lionesses lift the EURO 2022 trophy was not only amazing to witness as an England fan, it meant so much more that. Not so long ago, between 1921 and 1970 the FA actually banned women from playing football on any FA-affiliated pitch, saying "the game of football is quite unsuitable for females and ought not to be encouraged”.
Women missed out on generations worth of talent and basically had to reset the clock from 1970, even then though it wasn’t a smooth ride. The first professional women’s league in England wasn’t introduced until 2018!
FOOTBALL BIOGRAPHIES FOR KIDS – WRITTEN BY PEOPLE WITH KIDS, FOR KIDS.
We understand not all kids enjoy reading, that’s because they’re often made to read books they have no interest in. We wanted to make football books for kids that they would really enjoy.
- Easy to read
- Packed full of information to keep your child’s attention
- Writing style to engage kids
- Detailed stories about particular games and personal highlights
- Ideal for children aged 8 - 12 years old
We dive deep into the player's upbringing with the situations and circumstances that made them the player they are today. The highs, the lows and everything in between.
If your child loves football, we can ensure you that they’ll love the My Football Hero Series.
From the feedback we’ve received, we recommend that the ideal age group for these books are between 8 and 14 years of age.
We try to keep our books around the 100-page mark as we don’t want them to be too long that children get bored, but also want them to be long enough to have bags full of information and keep them entertained.
We also try and release a new book every month to try and cover every child's hero.
